Dear North Shore Member,
With Spring finally here and better golf weather just around the
comer,
I'd
like to give
you an update on things at North
Shore.
Our Golf Staff remains intact and Golf
Professional Mark Sorenson and Assistant
Professionals Jon Langer and JoAnn Palazzo are eager to help you with any and all of
your golfing needs. Dave
"Sunshine" Parrish continues to manage our cart fleet and is
anxious to offer you the best in
service as always. When visiting or calling please let the
staff know you are a member and every
attempt will be made to accommodate your
needs.
Golf Course Superintendent Brian Williams and staff
continue to work hard in their
efforts to provide you with the best
conditioned course possible. After the cold wet winter
of this year it is probable that the
course will
be a
little slower than normal in returning to
its best condition. Be assured that
every effort will be made to get the course in excellent
condition as quickly as possible.
Chef Ed Delaney will continue to offer
lunch specials in the grill room Tuesday thru
Saturday as well as offer many member only events
during the year. These events will be
included in a monthly calendar which
you will receive by mail and also posted on our
website. The club is also available for any special
and menu ideas.
Check our events page for the 2010
Member Golf & Special Event Schedule. I am very excited
about each of these events and urge
you to mark your calendar and plan to participate.
With the golf season upon us, golfers
will be eager to get out and enjoy the weather and
the golf course. Weekends will be
particularly busy in the spring so please make your
starting times well in advance so as
not to miss out. We will continue to hold one
additional "fill in" time per hour for members.
On occasion, all regular tee times as well
the "fill in" times will be
taken so please make your plans early. Walking is allowed after
3:00pm and does require a starting
time. It is the responsibility of those walking to check
in with the golf shop daily to make
sure there has been no changes in that days schedule
such as starting on hole #10 rather
than #1 etc. Please adhere to your starting time and
refrain from starting prior to 3:OOpmwithout permission
from the golf shop.
North Carolina ABC Laws do not allow
the possession of open containers of liquor or
mixed drinks to be consumed outside of
the licensed area. Persons bringing mixed drinks
into the clubhouse or bringing liquor
on club property, including the golf course, are
putting the clubs ABC Permit in
jeopardy as well as personally violating North Carolina
Law. Your cooperation in regards to
this is appreciated and expected.
The swimming pool will open Memorial Day weekend for the enjoyment of members and
accompanied guests. Hours of operation are l0am to 8pm 7 days a week. Please sign in
when visiting the pool and remember all guests must be accompanied by a member.
The tennis courts are available on a first come first served basis to members and
accompanied guests only.
As in previous years, we will have a security officer at the beach access during high
volume times. If you need stickers for your windshield they are available in the Golf
Shop.
2010 looks to be a great year at North Shore and the staff and I hope to see each of you in
the coming months. As always I can be reached by phone 800-828-5035, email
jrussell13@earthlink.net, or personally at the clubhouse if you have questions or
suggestions or if I can assist you in any way.
Thanks for your continued support of North Shore Country Club.
Sincerely,
John Russell
