Dear North Shore Country Club
Member,
With summer officially here I
would like to update you on things at North Shore as well as remind you of some
exciting upcoming events.
The golf course, under the
supervision of Superintendent Brian Williams and staff, continues to improve.
Our emphasis this summer will be to continue spraying out any weedy areas on
the course. These areas are basically the residual effect of years of over
seeding the course with winter rye grass. Additionally we have purchased
brushes for the greens mowers in an effort to improve the pace and smoothness
of the putting surfaces. You will probably notice slightly “firmer”
greens this summer as a result of a different aeration schedule we are using.
We will continue to do what is necessary to insure the golf course is in the
best condition possible.
The use of the swimming pool, tennis courts and beach
access by our members continues to grow. Please sign in when visiting the pool
and remember that guests must be accompanied and no glass of any type is
allowed on the pool deck. Tennis is first come first served and all guest must
be accompanied by a member. Identification stickers for use of the beach access
are available in the golf shop.
We have recently updated our
web page, www.northshorecountryclub.com,
and included is a members section which details upcoming events throughout the
year. Please visit the site and click on any event for the details. Details for
upcoming events such as Men’s Presidents Cup Golf Tournament, July 4th
Celebration, Men’s Match Play Championship, and Member-Guest Weekend are
currently available.
Speaking of the Member-Guest
weekend to be held October 3,4,5, what a weekend we have in store for you and
your guest. A new match play format, lunches each day for golfers, Friday night
“pig pickin”, ladies brunch, Fabulous Saturday night dinner dance
and complimentary beer and wine at most functions, are just a few things
scheduled for this fun filled weekend. Mark your calendars, invite a guest,
visit the website and be on the look out for your entry application which will
be mailed to you in early August. Don’t get left out as this event is
sure to fill quickly.
